Last Fall, around this time, I traveled to New England with family.  My two nieces, sister in law, and my daughter took a road trip from Boston, up to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and finally New York state.  I had always wanted to go in the Fall, and we finally just did it!  The scenery was everything I expected...the pictures do not do justice to the foliage, which was breathtaking.  It was all so quaint, perfect little homes, spotless highways, picket fences, covered bridges...perfect.  I also thought that those residents live in a "bubble"...what a unique, quiet, peaceful lifestyle they must lead.  We stayed in the little towns, and out in the countryside, avoiding the large cities.  I did some sketching and painting.  There was inspiration everywhere.

We rode a train, sampled apple cider doughnuts, ate lobster rolls, walked through a covered bridge, hiked along boulder strewn streams, and gazed at colorful hillsides and valleys.  It's an amazing destination; if you have never been, you should plan to go.  Just don't wait till you are 65!

I have not posted on this blog for YEARS!  Mainly, because once I joined Facebook, and had grand

children, I was posting on there.  But that doesn't mean I stopped making lots of art.  Someone

recently asked about using an image from this blog, so I decided to re-visit it and post some new

work.

I have been doing a lot of Louisiana birds with these abstract backgrounds.  And I have also still been traveling.  This past summer, I took a group to Canada (western) and Glacier National Park.  I have some great paintings from that trip as well.  Before that, we went to Iceland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji!

If anyone out there is still viewing, thanks!
