Louisiana Pecan Festival Poster Time

I got some fun exciting news today.  This is my entry for the Louisiana
Pecan Festival poster from last year.  I didn't do a new design this
year.  But they called , and said they wanted to use this
design for this year's poster. yea!  But I do have to change the date to
2014.  As soon as that is done, it is off to the Pecan Festival office in Colfax.

They will print them, and I will have to go down there and sign all of
them.  They will be on sale during the festival which is the first
weekend in November.  Why not plan to go, eat some pecan pie,
buy a poster, and jam to some music!

I am still working on the digital copy of the Galapagos book.  I am
about a third of the way through.  It is looking pretty good.
Will keep you posted.

And...anyone interested in going with me to Germany,
Switzerland, and Austria next summer...there are only 5 spots
left!  So, if you want to go, hurry and sign up to reserve a spot.
just sayin....

Poster Progress

Second sketch for the Louisiana Pecan Fest Poster.
I added the guitar on the side, and shifted a few things
around.

And this is the first stage of the poster.  It is acrylic paint on
watercolor paper.  It is time to do more lettering (not my
favorite thing!)  I will also add some outlines here
and there.  Will keep you posted !

Louisiana Pecan Festival Poster

I received a letter this announcing the annual Louisiana
Pecan Festival poster contest.  I won the contest a couple of
years ago.  So, last night I did some preliminary sketches.
This idea revolves around signs at the festival...I like the bright
colors and the graphic style.  It may be a possibility.  I will do some
more sketches before I decide.

Pecan Festival Weekend

the bayou right outside of Colfax

Greek food at a central Louisiana festival?  hum....
and I did partake of a chocolate
dipped cheesecake...yum

I know some of you must think I am never
still...I'm not.  I got up and drove around the
pasture early this morning taking those misty
photos; I went to the shop and taught 13 little
girls for the party; I decorated the shop all day
for Christmas and waited on customers; then
I drove down to Colfax to the Louisiana Pecan
Festival where they are selling my posters this
weekend!  And I took those lovely photos of
the bayou on my way home....all in a day's
work!  Boy, I am glad we get an extra hour
tonight...
