Showtime

I attended the opening reception last night

for the Contemporary Artist's Guild show

at the Alexandria Museum of Art. I got

to visit with several friends and view

everyone else's work. It is a pretty

impressive show. There is a wide variety

of subject matter and mediums. The show

will hang until the end of July. If

you are in the area, you should try to

make it by. You can check out the

museum website; they have lots of

activities all month long.

Summer Fun at the Museum

This afternoon I had to run down to

Alexandria and take two pieces that are

included in an upcoming show. The Contemporary

Artist's Guild member show will be

opening at the Alexandria Museum of

Art next Friday, July 8. The reception is

from 6:30-8:30. I entered a photo on canvas

of the library at Ephesus, and the colored

pencil drawing of the rhino.

I picked up the other flyer while there. They

host a 2nd Saturday market every month

that sounds like a lot of fun. If you are in the

area, you might want to check it out.

Wonder in the Water

I have several juried shows coming up, and I am

trying to complete a couple of things that I had

already started. This is one of them.

It is a pencil drawing of a curious little boy, playing

and exploring in the creek. I took this photograph

while I was doing an art festival in Denton, TX.

I always thought it would be a great pencil drawing,

and it is shaping up now. I will probably be able to

finish it tomorrow night.

The Natchitoches Art Guild annual show and the

Alexandria Art Museum September competition

are both coming soon. I don't know what I am sending

to which...will decide when finished.
