Senior Gifts

Here are the final chalkboard projects.  I trimmed the photos, and
placed them around the edges.  I attached the chalkboards to the back of
the beaded board frames.  These are gifts for these graduating senior girls....I bet
they are surprised and happy!

Got to do a little work at the studio today...making these old windows
into clip boards by adding chicken wire and fabric.
First, I had to clean the windows really well.  Carrie, one of my
employees helped me cut the chicken wire to the right size.
Then, we stapled it to the back of the frame.  Then we added the
fabric on top of that...stapling it in place with a staple gun.  We added
a backing and some hanging ribbon.

These make great memo boards, jewelry display or storage, photo displays,
or memory boards.  I have all sorts and sizes of windows, and I can customize
the fabric, too.  Let me know if you would like one!  Great gift or treat for yourself,
only $40 each.

Assembly Required

This is one of the windows I put together this weekend.
It incorporates an old window frame, some beaded
board, a hook, and one of my
scripture prints on canvas.  Some burlap
ribbon holds it up!

This one is a cork board, with some beaded board as a frame.
And burlap ribbon holds this one too.

This window was originally a cabinet door.  I made a
chalkboard to go in the bottom, and a corkboard on
the top.  I also attached a boot scripture photo on this
one.  I am trying to incorporate them into some of the
salvaged pieces in order to sell them along with another
element.

I will take these to Dallas in June, to the wholesale
gift market.  Hopefully, they will be available
in a store near you!

Through the Looking Glass

I managed to make this window today.  I used my scripture photo of the boots with
the verse from Jeremiah.  I enlarged the photo and glued it to the glass.

Then I added some hooks at the bottom.  And I attached these cute
rusty metal stars that are on a wire garland.  I tied on the burlap
ribbon hanger, and it is all finished.  It will go with me to market in
Dallas in just a few days!

Countdown to Dallas

Some of the window chalkboards, waiting to be packed up

More waiting to be packed....

The one in the front has some cowboy boots on it...it will sell first!

And all the bags (1000 of them!) have to have tags tied on...

These are the GHS Enterprises tags I had printed.

I said I was busy packing things up for the Dallas
wholesale show...well, here is
the proof!  I thought I would take a couple of pics of some
of it waiting to be packed up for the 5 hour trip.  I have ordered
some clear wrap that will wrap all the breakable items
(glass windows, etc), and I will load those in my
Suburban.  The booth set up will
be loaded in a U-Haul trailer that I will pull behind me,
along with all of the canvas bags that are in boxes.
Some of my sweet employees are tagging all the bags,
even as I speak here (they took some home to work on!)
I am still in the process of making some neat
one-of-a-kind pieces to take as well.  And this weekend,
I hope to pick up some unusual antique items to go
along with all this vintage-looking stuff.  The countdown
is definitely on...but I will be
ready!

Cupcake Chalkboard

This is the chalkboard paint...a spray paint
that turns flat surfaces into chalkboards! cool

I cut a piece of masonite to fit the entire window, and sprayed it with the
chalkboard paint.  When it was dry, I nailed it to the back of the
window frame.

Here is the window so far...wtih the chalkboard behind the glass and filling up
the open panes on the end.

And then here is the window with the cupcake art on the glass panes,
with the blackboard at the bottom.  I will attach a hanger, and seal the
whole thing, and it will be ready to go!  fun, fun
