Men at Work

Coming home from the fields late in the day

selling cantalopes

washing down the umbrella

playing the harp

bringing home some hay
I realized I had posted a lot of pics of
the women of Peru at work.  To be fair,
I did see some men at work as well.  In fact,
our guide told us that there is no welfare
system in Peru, and that the people must
work to earn money.  We did see people doing
all kinds of work all across the country.  Very
admirable indeed.

Sketchbook Time

I have been working in my sketchbook
tonight, finishing up some more pages.
Just a couple more, and I will be
through.  I did a couple of collage pages,
using tickets, some old stamps, a chocolate
bar wrapper, some business cards, a
massage advertisement, (we all had one!),
and a small watercolor of Macchu Pichu
that I bought in a gallery.  The three kinds of
animals we saw: alpaca, llama, and vicuna.
And some watercolors of some of the hard
working women we saw everywhere.

It was such a diverse and fascinating country.
There were so many interesting subjects to draw
and paint.  I hope that you are enjoying some of
my interpretations and images.
