Dancing Ladies
![]() |
When I was out and about today, I took some pics of some azaleas...wild and domestic. The wild ones grow along a creek near our house. I always look forward to seeing them in the spring. They look like "dancing ladies" or "ballerinas". The hot pink azalea at the bottom is a typical one found here in the South. The late freeze this year really put a damper on some of the blooms, but these managed to show out! sheltongail@hotmail.com

Bee Happy
![]() |
I thought this would be a good image for today. I have been guilty of wishing my life away at times, waiting for circumstances or timing to be just right. We all tend to believe that the grass is always greener somewhere else, and that we can be happy only when everything is perfect. We waste precious time under-appreciating (is that a word?!) our lives as they are. I love the words written here: The time to be happy is now The place to be happy is here I saw this somewhere years ago in my life, when I needed to see it, and it really spoke to me. I thought it would look good with this "happy" sunflower, and the contented bees. I hope on this God's day, you can appreciate your own life, and embrace your circumstances, and be grateful. I will try too! sheltongail@hotmail.com

Flower Photograph Evolution

There are some blackeyed susans down by the creek....

As I prepared to photograph them, I suddenly had some help from Huey

I tried a back lit shot up close...

Then, a different set up....

I wanted a blurrier background.....

And of course, the last one I took is my favorite! I love blackeyed susans...the simple wildflowers that blooms along our roads here in the South in the summer. I had been wanting to photograph some before they went away. So, I stopped several places along the highway (risking getting run over by a log truck!). I wasn't able to get what I wanted, so I drove on home. And then I spotted some flowers right along the creek that winds through our land, so I picked some and took them to the house. I moved them around outside, trying different effects, etc, (and with a lot of interference from a certain four-legged friend). I finally liked the very last one I took...isn't is always either the very first one, or the very last?! Hope you are enjoying a simple and beautiful summer where you are. sheltongail@hotmail.com
